Laurie Evans Landscape Raffle
1st Prize - Laurie Evans Landscape Painting which was very generously donated by a deceased estate and framed by Richard Parkin of Jenrick Design was won by Dawn Pope of Ararat
2nd Prize - BP fuel voucher was won by Vonda Chamberlain of Great Western
The raffle was drawn by
Suzanne Hill from Warrnambool, who was visiting the Gallery

Trains return to Stawell Railway Station
11th April 2011
Trains returned to the Stawell Railway Station on the 11th April 2011.
The Melbourne to Adelaide Overland will now stop every Monday to Saturday.

Saturday 23rd May 2009
The Governor, Professor David Morritz de Krester AC and his wife Jan visited the new refurbished Stawell Railway Station Gallery along with the Major of the North Grampians Shire Council, Councilor Kevin Erwin.
The Governor and his wife were presented with a gift handcrafted by one of the gallery members.

Friday 10th April 2009 - Friday 17th April 2009
Stawell was privileged to have received a national touring art quilt exhibition at Easter 2009 as part of the Grampians Art trail. Australia Wide is an exhibition of quilts by members of Ozquilt Network Inc. The exhibition can be viewed on its website www.ozquiltnetwork.org.au
Ozquilt Network Incorporated was founded in 1998 as an
46 quilts have been selected, along with 2 quilts by invited
quilt artists. All quilts conform to the specified size of 40 cm x 40 cm to
allow for ease of packing and traveling.
In 2009
Australia Wide
has been traveling to Tasmania, Victoria and Queensland.
Five artists with a
common love of textile making are working together to bring
this outstanding exhibition to Stawell.

Sue Cunningham, Jean Curtis, Fran Deutsher and Carole Mc
Gregor live in Stawell and Great Western, Victoria, and are
members of the Contempo Textiles group.
This group will be presenting a small exhibition to
accompany Australia Wide.
It will feature contemporary works with felt making,
machine embroidery and quilting.
Their works are responses to their local environment.
This exhibition was proudly sponsored by the Northern Grampians Shire and Stawell Quilters Inc.

All artists, through a wide range of media, exhibited work each based on a story from children's literature. (Traditional Grimms Fairy Tales through to modern quirky stories featured in Dr Seuss.)
Amelia's ceramic work referenced a wide array of fairy tales, rhymes and literary characters.
